Dear Parents, Members and Friends of Youth Orchestra, CYCNY.

While we are all busy with our upcoming concert on May 25 at Lincoln Center, and at the recent rehearsals, the orchestra sounds really great playing all these exciting and thrill pieces that we are about to present.

Thank you so much for your supports to make our 11th Annual Concert at Lincoln Center possible.

The only professional  orchestra in Queens, the Queens Symphony Orchestra, is about to celebrate its 60th Anniversary with its Gala 2013!

It will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 6:30 PM at Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. The two honorees are: Dr. James Muyskens, the President of Queens College. and I,  Patsy Chen, the Artistic Director of Youth Orchestra, CYCNY.

What an honor for me that must be shared with the Youth Orchestra, CYCNY family!

I have been working with Queen Symphony Orchestra since 1993. longer than my involvement with Youth Orchestra, CYCNY, since 1998.

Queens Symphony Orchestra has been serving the diversified ethnic groups by featuring composers and artists of all nationalities.

QSO once asked international renowned violinist Cho-Liang Lin 林昭亮) to visit the rehearsal of YOC at MS 158, Master Lin talked with, as well as, encouraged our members and staff. That was when QSO engaged Master Lin as the featured soloist of its concert, YOC benefited from Master Lin's community service on the contract. And of course, it was also Master Lin's choice, among many options for his community services. We sincerely thanked Cho-Liang Lin for it.

At its free concerts and operas in the summer at the Parks or St. John's University,  I met many of our YOC families. For its Master Works Concert Series. YOC often received complimentary tickets for our members and parents.

Its educational Young People's concerts for school students and general public at libraries, some of you might enjoyed and remembered.

Therefore, please refer to the following e-mail with information of the QSO Gala 2013 on May 29 at Queens College. If you can attend, or contribute any amount of donation, or give us valuable gift for raffle prizes and/or silent auctions. The Queens Symphony Orchestra and I would appreciate your generosity to QSO.

Maestro Constantine Kitsopoulos is considering and   planning a side-by-side concert with Youth Orchestra, CYCNY in the soon to come future!

 Sincerely,

 Patsy Chen
