Dear Members, Parents and Staff,

We are glad to announce that:
Youth Orchestra, CYCNY will be joining with Da-Feng Elementary School Alumni Youth Orchestra to tour at Tokyo area of Japan, playing a concert at Tokyo College of Music (July 3rd) and a concert in Taipei or New Taipei City (July 6th). The updated itinerary is in the attachment.

The Music Director and Conductor will be Dr. Jeffrey Liang, who was YOC Conductor from 1999-2010. Music Director from 2002-2012. We appreciate Jeffrey's 13 years of serving to YOC!

YOC will be responsible for the managing and concert expenses of the Tokyo Concert, while Da-Feng Alumni Youth Orchestra will be responsible for the concert in Taiwan. Although Da-Feng has more than 30 members going already, while YOC has about 10 members going so far. The concert will have enough members to perform.
Our sponsor in Japan might ask Tokyo College of Music to present some program of their students at the Tokyo Concert on July 3rd for cultural exchange experience,

We credit our past many successful concert tours to Music Director Jeffrey Linag, Executive Directors Rosalind Chia and Anita Lin of YOC and Jacy Meng of COTSNY. Without them, it is hard to have a concert tour.

Our last tour was on 2012 to Osaka and Taiwan,  at that tour Jeffrey and Anita were still with us. It is hard to arrange tour if not enough musicians are going, luckily, Jeffrey could move members to concert tour, at the end of March, 2015, Jeffrey took 150 members and parents and siblings to Singapore for concert tour.

This is a good chance to meet our Counterparts of Taiwan and Japan on stage and on tour. Not to mention sightseeing Tokyo and be arranged by Jacy Meng of COTSNY. It is some travel agency that we can trust and we have been seeing his travel agency developed into one of the best and biggest in our community.

I know many of our members have other engagements for the summer already.
If you know someone who wants to join us. please refer our tour to him or her.
The music program level for tour would not be as difficult as YOC 2014-15 concert programs.

Do you know that we are playing the music scores that are the same scores that New York Philharmonic  and other professional orchestras are playing?

For Saturday, April 18, after the 2-5pm Dress Rehearsal (please come with your concert attire on, we will take photos), there will be rice boxes from  Gu-Shiang (故鄉台菜)for Members, Ringers, Staff and Volunteering Parents/Siblings.

The choices are Pork, Chicken, Beef and Vegetarian- dried bean curd strips (only four boxes)

Good luck for the concert!!
We will amaze the audience!

Sincerely,
Patsy Chen
